Description
GHRP-2 DESCRIPTION
Peptide GHRP-2 (Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide-2; Pralmorelin) is a synthetic analogue of met-enkephalin (naturally occurring, endogenous opioid peptide) and growth hormone secretagogue (GHS), that acts as growth hormone secretagogue receptor (GHSR) agonist and stimulates natural production of growth hormone (GH). GHRP-2 is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 6 amino acids, with the amino acid sequence D-Ala-D-(β-naphthyl)-Ala-Ala-Trp-D-Phe-Lys-NH2 and molecular mass 817.9749 g/mol. This GHR peptide has been extensively studied for its utility as a growth hormone secretagogue (GHS).
GHRP-2 VS. GHRP-6, DIFFERENCES
Like the GHRP-2 and GHRP-6 peptides themselves, their effects are also very similar. However, unlike GHRP-6, the GHRP-2 peptide does not tend to evoke as strong a feeling of increased hunger as GHRP-6 does. However, at higher doses, GHRP-2 may lead to a marked increase in cortisol and prolactin production.
GHRP-2 AND CLINICAL USE
GHRP-2 was the first of this class of drugs to be introduced clinically. It is used as a diagnostic agent, which is sold in a single dose formulation for the assessment of growth hormone deficiency (GHD). In past, GHRP-2 was also under investigation for the treatment of GHD and short stature (pituitary dwarfism), and made it to phase II clinical trials for these indications. However, the ability of GHRP-2 to increase plasma GH levels in humans with GHD has been shown to be significantly lower compared to healthy individuals, therefore ultimately, GHRP-2 peptide as a GHD treatment has never been marketed.

GHRP-2 FAQ
What is GHRP-2?
Peptide GHRP-2 is a synthetic analogue of met-enkephalin and growth hormone secretagogue, that acts as growth hormone secretagogue receptor agonist and stimulates natural production of growth hormone (GH).
What does GHRP-2 do?
GHRP-2 significantly stimulates natural production of growth hormone (GH) in the body.
What is GHRP-2 used for?
In Japan, GHRP‐2 is clinically used as a diagnostic agent for growth hormone secretion deficiency (GHD).
Does GHRP-2 cause hunger?
GHRP-2 can cause hunger, but not as strong as GHRP-6.
What is the difference between GHRP-2 and GHRP-6 peptides?
Like both peptides, GHRP-2 and GHRP-6 are very similar, their effects are also similar. However, the GHRP-2 peptide does not tend to produce as strong a feeling of increased hunger as GHRP-6, but at higher doses may in turn lead to an increase in cortisol and prolactin production.
GHRP-2 DOSAGE
In the scientific studies and clinical trials performed, the optimal dose of GHRP-2 is often reported as 1 mcg per 1 kg body weight 3 times daily.
